aw sister

I was just showing my mom my blogs and my sister Amy runs in here screaming about her foot hurting really bad. She left her hair straightener on the floor turned on and she stepped on it. It burned the flesh right off her poor little toes. She's yelling at my mom to blow on her foot. Now she's crying. Haha, she's such a dork.

A Christmas Tag

1. Paper wrapping or gift bags.

Well I like to wrap gifts but I'm not very good at it. I'll get so impatient that I will just throw it in a bag with some tissue paper on top.

2. Real tree or artificial.

Artificial. Real ones are just too messy. And I've always had a fake tree. I've already started looking at what size I want for next Christmas for my apartment with mattie. You think he will buy me one?

3. When do you put the tree up?

Almost always before Thanksgiving. My family likes to enjoy it as long as possible. And it takes a whole day to put everything on it because we have so much stuff. This year I didn't get to help because I was in San Angelo the weekend before Thanksgiving. But when i came home it was up and looking beautiful.

4. When do you take the tree down?

After New Year's always. I hate taking it down. It makes me so sad. I love Christmas time so much!

5. Do you like eggnog?

Oh my stars no way jose! And the Henry's think I'm crazy!

6. Favorite gift received.

My engagement ring! Yeah boy!

7. Do you have a nativity scene?

No but I would like to have one.

8. Hardest person to buy for?

My dad. He is so picky!

9. Easiest person to buy for?

Besides myself, my niece Olivia. Anything makes her happy and smile. I love that.

10. Worst gift I have received.

I got a Santa dish from my Grandma when I was like 13. I was very disappointed. I wanted clothes!

11. Favorite ornament.

Every time you turn our tree on there is a roller coaster ornament that makes a sound of people riding it with Christmas music in the backgroud. I love it! I want one! I'll have to try to sneak it from my mom.

12. Favorite Christmas movie.

I like The Grinch with Jim Carrey. He is one of my all-time favorite actors.

13. When do you start Christmas shopping?

OH boy, I procrastinate every year and do it all like a few days before Christmas. I should get out of that habit.

14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas gift?

Um, yes. I got some lotion one time from someone I worked with. I gave it to someone else I worked with because I didn't like the scent. SSSHHHHH!!!

15. What is your favorite Christmas food?

Chocolate!!

16. Clear lights or colored?

Clear! I could stare at clear Christmas lights all day. I'm such a dork. I freak out everytime I'm driving and I see some. Just ask Matt.

17. Favorite Christmas song.

"All I Want for Christmas is You" and "Silent Night"

18. Traveling or staying home?

Oh I love to stay home but that never happens. We never host Christmas. We are always traveling to the grandparents houses all day. Unless we are in Colorado swish swish! (That was supposed to be the sound of me skiing)

19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?

Rudolph, Donnor, Comet, Blitzen, Dasher, Cupid, Prancer. I don't even know if thats right. I can't remember how many there are.

20. Angel or star on the top of the tree?

Star.

21. When do you open the gifts?

Christmas morning at my house, Christmas Eve at grandma's house.

22. Most anoying thing about the Christmas season.

How crowded the malls are!

23. Does Santa always wrap the gifts?

Why wouldn't he????????????

24. Did you ever leave cookies for Santa?

Nope. Never.

25. What is your favorite Christmas memory?

Going to Colorado for Christmas when I was 10 years old. We went with all of my mom's family. We had a huge condo and all of us stayed together. It's when I first learned to ski. Been in love with the sport ever since. Can't wait to go back.

I tag Sarah!

Priceless

Oh my stars! I am now officially engaged to my wonderful fiance Matthew Ryan Henry. I have to tell all the details from beginning to end...it was amazing!

First, my boober told me to be ready at 11:00 am on Saturday because he had a surprise for me and I had to be dressed nice like we were going to church. I had no idea what he had up his sleeve. He looked so handsome when he came to pick me up. It was funny because we were about to leave my house and i showed him a watch i was wearing that my grandma gave me. I told him I only wore it on special occasions and i winked at him. I had a hunch that maybe this was the day but wasn't quite sure.

Anyways, so we left there and Matt told me we were going to Fort Worth for a surprise but it did not start until 2:00 so we had to find somewhere out there to eat. On the way there I was guessing different things he could be taking me to do. I guessed it, The Nutcracker Ballet!!!! But since we got out there so early we went across the street and got some wings at Chilis (we love wings!). At lunch I just had to ask him (since he has had my ring for like 7 weeks now) if he was still ok with getting married to me and making sure he wasn't having second thoughts. He was like "No babe, just don't want to rush things." But the whole time he was probably laughing inside. I did not think tonight was going to be the night at all after talking to him about it at lunch.

After eating we went across the street to the ballet. The costumes were amazing and the ballerinas were beautiful. And at the end of the first act, they had bubbles falling from the ceiling that looked just like real snow and that was my favorite part. It was amazing! After the ballet he kept asking me what I wanted to do and I would shoot him back ideas but he wouldn't do any of them. He finally just took me to a Starbucks and we sat and drank hot chocolate together and talked.

Once it got dark we got back in the car and he just started driving and didn't tell me where we were going. Finally we pulled up to this nice neighborhood in Highland Park. The houses were unreal. He took me to see the Christmas lights down there. I have never seen anything like it! So beautiful. We drove up and down the streets for atleast 30 minutes and we came up on this gazebo that had thousands of Christmas lights all over it with a gorgeous fountain in front of it. He parked and said "Lets go take a walk." By that time I should of thought it was about to happen.....but I didn't at all. We walked up to the gazebo and sat on a bench. We sat there for a few minutes just looking at eachother and kissing. Then "I had to find the perfect spot to tell you how much I love you..." he said to me (at this point he was shaking so bad sitting next to me...I knew what was coming). He told me how much I meant to him and then got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?"--It was perfect! I said "Yes!!!" and he picked me up and squeezed me. We both shed some tears....oh my stars it was such a sweet moment. I was so excited that i wanted to text my friends and call my family but Matt told me the night was not over yet and took me to eat dinner at a cute italian restaurant.

When we got there, I saw my parents and friend's cars in the parking lot and was freaking out. We walked inside to a back room where I saw my parents, my two younger sisters, David and DeLana, Landon and Sarah, Kylah and Michael, and our friends sitting there waiting to congratulate us. It was unbelievable!!! I can't even put into words how great Matt made that day. I felt like a princess that had finally found her prince charming. I have found my prince charming, my knight in shining armor, Matthew Ryan Henry. You are the most amazing man I have ever met. Thank you Lord for giving me a man that wants to take care of me, that wants to provide for me, and wants to do things for me just because he wants to see that smile on my face, (he tells me that all the time), and for all the wonderful times that we have had together and the many more to come. We are about to embark on an everlasting journey together and I feel so blessed to get to do it with you, my Matthew. I will never forget that feeling I had on the drive home that night...priceless.

Oh My Stars!

I have been creating my blogspot since 6:00. I'm ridiculous. Goodnight.

Finally...

Oh my stars! My future mom and sisters have been on me to get one of these blogs so we can keep in touch more. I know this was supposed to be an easy process but of course i found a way to make it difficult. It took me an hour just to get this far. Thats ok, I know I will get to talk to the Henry's and the one Kotze more. But i just got online to do this real quick. My sister is kicking me off to do some homework. But i will be back! Love you guys...

Christmas Lights

Soooooo I've been on my boober (Matt for those of you who don't know that's what i call him) to take me to see Christmas lights for a couple of weeks now. Actually, even before Thanksgiving I was asking him to take me. (I'm like a little kid. I love christmas lights, fireworks, and pretty fountains.) I'm always dropping hints that i really want to go see some lights. (I guess not really dropping hints but just coming out and saying "Babe take me to see Christmas lights!") Almost everytime I get this response "For the love of God, stop!"--Do you think he's getting annoyed by me asking so much? Yes, i definitely do, but its still fun to mess with him. Oooo but today I got a different response, "Babe I'm working on it, just be patient." Which makes me think.....hmmm, could this be planned for the BIG night? The night that will change our lives forever?!?!?! The night he proposes to the love of his life?!?!?! I like that!

Along the lines of Christmas lights, I was looking at Sarah's blog earlier. The pictures of Ellie and the Christmas tree were adorable. Seeing those sure does make me miss all of you alot. Wish we could be there for stuff like that. Who knows...maybe someday.

Just for laughs to spread a lil holiday joy...

In the middle of shopping at Garden Ridge. (My future husband must be so proud. I love you.)
